Towerrunning Slovakia

About us

We run where others take the lift. Towerrunning Slovakia organises stair races in the tallest buildings in Slovakia.

What we do

Towerrunning, or stair running, is a sport measured not in distance but in floors and vertical metres. Every staircase has different parameters (number of steps, step height), which makes every race different.

We prepare and organise races in well-known high-rise buildings and on outdoor staircases, run the season-long points standings and actively develop this unconventional sport in Slovakia.

Slovak Towerrunning Cup

The Slovak Towerrunning Cup (STC) is a season-long series of stair races. You earn points for your placing at every event. Your best 4 results count towards the overall STC OPEN standings and your best 3 towards STC Junior. The season peaks at the final event, where the STC winners are crowned.

Slovak Championships

We also organise the Slovak Stair Running Championships for adults and juniors. They include a separate FIREFIGHTER category in which competitors race in full turnout gear according to the regulations of the Slovak Ministry of the Interior, including an active breathing apparatus.

Who it is for

Stair running is a sport for everyone, regardless of age or ability. Our races bring together experienced competitors, recreational athletes and complete beginners who share the desire to push their limits. Every staircase is a new challenge and every step conquered is a step towards a personal victory. All you need is running shoes, determination and the will to reach the top.

Partners

Behind every successful race are our partners. Thanks to the building owners and managers who open their stairwells to us, and to the support of our partners and sponsors, we can organise unique sporting events and develop towerrunning in Slovakia. Our sincere thanks go to all of them.

Tony Reichmann

Tony Reichmann is a key figure in the development of stair running and competitive treadmill running in Slovakia. As the initiator, founder and organiser of major sports projects, he played a decisive role in building the competition system, launching a nationwide running league, organising national championships and creating the conditions for the long-term development of these disciplines.

He came up with the idea for and founded the Slovak stair running cup – Slovak Towerrunning Cup (STC), launched in 2024. Since January 2025 he has been President of Towerrunning Slovakia, focusing on the systematic development of towerrunning, supporting young talent and building a Slovak sporting base.

He founded the Kotrmelec Sports Foundation, through which he organises sports and charity events and has long supported children from centres for children and families.

In 2019 he became the first Slovak to officially run 100 kilometres on a treadmill, setting the inaugural Slovak record, which he broke in 2020. He also founded the Slovak Treadmill Running Association (SABBP), created the Tony Treadmill Run project and organises the Slovak championships in this discipline.
